What We Offer

We all face various challenges at different stages of our lives.  We all want to be happy, or at least happier than we may currently be.  Clinical Psychology has a long history of assisting people through these challenges as they move toward their desired goals.  The approach taken by the clinical psychologists at the Karrinyup Clinical Psychology Service is a positive and practical one based in sound research yet one that applies specifically for you, your circumstances and the person you are.  The Karrinyup Clinical Psychology Service psychologists seek to provide a warm and accepting situation in which to improve the quality of your life.
Because we are all individuals, the process of therapy will advance individually for you and your needs. Generally, at your first appointment we aim to understand what has been troubling you, and how you wish to move forward.  We may ask about aspects of your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships to assess what has been creating and sustaining your current difficulties, what you have done so far to try to manage them, and how you see life free of them.  Our clinical psychologists will offer you practical, evidence-based strategies to begin to make the changes you want.  A treatment plan will be presented and discussed for any future sessions so that we can insure we work together to best reach your goals.
